Assalamu Alaykum (Peace be upon you)

Welcome to The Muslim Craft Club!

I’m thrilled that you’ve landed on our page. You might be here because you’re looking for Islamic-friendly creative ideas and inspiration for your Muslim children, or curious to see what we offer. Whatever the case may be, come and find out who we are and why we do what we do (We’re excited to share our passion with you).

Firstly, The Muslim Craft Club is exactly what it says on the tin - we are an online craft club for muslim kids hosting unique craft courses & resources for Muslim children all over the world. Our motto is simple - we want to turn our Muslim kids into mini craftsmen, artisans and everything in between.

We want them to illustrate their craftsmanship in the products they craft and projects they embark on.

As Muslims, naturally we are very careful as to what types of fun activities our children engage by making sure it is aligned with our Islamic beliefs. I know this firsthand as I have always been very careful with what I have taught my own students.

Whilst it is incredibly time-consuming to rummage through tonnes of resources to sieve through the “inappropriate” ones, it’s also very exhausting too! This is where we come into the picture - we have done the “legwork” (or “handwork” in our case) and developed Islamic-friendly craft classes, courses, lesson (whatever you’d like to name it) so that we’re thoroughly training your mini muslim into a true craftsman.

Who’s the founder?

I founded The Muslim Craft Club after leaving a career in fashion. Why did I leave? I became a practising Muslimah and I wanted a halal and beneficial business that would help the wider community, particularly my Muslim community.

As part of my degree at university, I was taught various surface textile modules which included; print, knit & embroidery.

I ended up specialising in embroidery/embellishment design and went onto working for some of the top high street brands such as Monsoon, Asos & Debenhams as their embellishment designer!

Since leaving fashion I work with children by providing private lessons in textiles, working in an Islamic primary school as an LSA, and also running after-school clubs on a freelance basis (I’ve been busy).

I’ve combined my ENTIRE wealth of knowledge, experience & expertise into one big program.

The Muslim Craft Club was born as a one-stop platform for our Muslim kids to learn and acquire professional skills in a variety of surface textile specialisms online.

As a parent, you might be keen to get your children stuck into an extra curricular activity. We would all love to do that. But it can be so hard to find something suitable that doesn’t compromise our Islamic beliefs. Particularly when it comes to arts & crafts, we might be faced with numerous factors that prevent us from enrolling our children. It’s a sensitive and difficult subject, in my opinion anyway.

Alhamdulillah, this platform will be free from any worries pertaining to our Islamic beliefs and will strictly adhere to the Quran and Sunnah, so your child is learning in a safe environment.

What do we teach exactly?

Right now, our hand embellishment course is on full swing, and we are also aiming to release classes in other surface textile areas too!

But firstly, let me show you a little taster of what your mini muslims could be doing:

Once they complete their course and are fully trained in the field of hand embellishment, they’ll be able to start making these:

Ramadan activities

Our fun activities for Muslim kids can be perfect during the month of Ramadan too, when sabr and ikhlaas are paramount. I have always felt that sabr could be mastered and perfected through taking up a labour-intensive hobby. Well, hand embellishment is most certainly one of them!

How about Ikhlaas? Sincerity is greatly important to us as Muslims. Being sincere in our actions, our intentions and our speech are what makes us gain closeness to our Lord, Allah. With these skills, they’ll be planning and plotting their gift ideas for others during Ramadan - sincerely done for their loved ones and sincerely hoping for the reward from their Lord.

Muslim mummies

I want to show you, my dear Muslim mummy, that your job can be eased (we sincerely hope) by giving yourself a break. Let your child engage in something they’re excited about so that they can give you some peace for a few moments! Muslim mummies, we (certainly I) have your back. You’ll be surprised with what they can achieve when they’re left alone. It’s as simple as getting them in front of a computer with their equipment and leaving them alone with me.

What next?

The next step is deciding what you want to do. I’m here to answer any questions personally. It’s a brand new concept and may seem alien to some of you, so I am here to take you through each step of the way until you’re comfortable with your decision.

You can always find out more on our website too www.themuslimcraftclub.com

Thanks for checking us out and I can’t wait to get our Muslim kiddos crafting soon!

Yours faithfully,

Miss K
